It is my job to take care of the administration and management of Barratt’s learning management system (LMS).
Our LMS contains hundreds of online development courses and our divisions open want updates as to who has/hasn’t completed the courses.
I also work with the Future Talent Team. This year my main focus for Future Talent is to establish a number of Brand Ambassadors within target universities around the country to increase our direct campus engagement levels. Alongside this, I am organising all of the careers events that Barratt plan to attend and putting together Internal Campus Teams to building relationships with our target universities.
The highlight of my day is arriving at work knowing that I won’t be doing what I did yesterday.

We’re building everything from smart city flats and penthouse suites to starter homes and family houses. And we’ve won a clutch of awards for the quality of our work.
In construction, you can absolutely guarantee you will find a role you can thrive in and enjoy.
I attended a comprehensive secondary school and continued my studies there for Sixth Form. The A-levels I studied were: Business, English Literature and Psychology.
My favourite thing about my job is the variety. Every day is different. Also, I feel flattered at the level of responsibility I have been given considering I am an undergraduate placement student. The central HR team is small so I have a real opportunity to make an impact within the year I am at Barratt.
The highlight of my day is arriving at work knowing that I won’t be doing what I did yesterday. I get bored by routine so this role in Barratt is perfect for me!
At the moment, I see my career in HR continuing. Since I started at Barratt I have developed a keen interest in the Construction industry and would not hesitate to go back into similar work in the future.
I would tell that the construction industry is not all standing get wet on building sites and building houses! Working with a company like Barratt, who are so dedicated to Learning and Development means that there is always scope for personal goals to be achieved. Everyone I have encountered is friendly and willing to help; I have had no problems working in the construction industry so far.
I would advise focusing on working in the right firm rather than in the right job initially. In construction, you can absolutely guarantee you will find a role you can thrive in and enjoy.
