Although no formal entry qualifications are required to become a Concrete Finisher, it is generally recommended to achieve four GCSEs, including maths and English, at grade 4 (C) or above, or their equivalents, such as the Welsh Baccalaureate or Scottish Nationals.
While previous experience as a Concrete Finisher may not always be necessary, many employers will value experience of working on a construction site.
Gaining employment as a Mason’s Mate, working under the supervision of an experienced Concrete Finisher, will allow for the development of the specific skills required for the role.
