Transport managers are responsible for ensuring that the legal requirements for road haulage are met.
Salaries typically depend on location, employer and any overtime that you may do. Self-employed Transport managers set their own pay rates.
As a managerial position, a BSc Honours Degree in engineering, logistics, or business management (England), L6 NVQ/HNC (Wales) or its Scottish equivalent will most likely be required. For some positions you'll also need to have a Masters Degree, or chartered status with a relevant body.
However, experience is often very important too, so entrants with other qualifications might be considered.
