Join Pride in STEM and Proud Crick for an incredible night of science to mark #LGBTSTEMDay! Meet some incredible LGBT+ researchers who will share with you their experiences of being out and proud in the world of STEM, and find out all about the incredible aspects of science they work on.
This event is open to everyone, no matter your gender or sexual orientation!
The phenomenal line-up for the evening includes:
- Dr. Güneş Taylor, a post-doc who will speak about using chickens to study mechanisms of sex determination.
- Kevin Ng, a graduate researcher who will give a talk on “Living with our retroviruses”.
- Dr. Clara Barker, materials scientist, LGBTI+ youth worker, chair of the Oxford University LGBT+ Advisory Group and avid D&D fan.
- Dr. Andrew Princep, a condensed matter physicist studying quantum magnetism in artificial metal-organic crystals. The MC will be Dr. Alfredo Carpineti, chair and founder of Pride in STEM.
