WorldSkills UK is a partnership between business, education and governments, helping all young people to go further, faster in their careers, and gain the skills that employers’ need most.
WorldSkills UK organises skills competitions to bring together apprentices and learners from across the country to be the best in their chosen skill. The top achievers from the WorldSkills UK Competitions undergo further intense technical and mindset training to prepare them for international competitions.
Competitions encourage today's apprentices and learners to be ambitious in their pursuit for excellence, while providing them with lifelong, world-class skills. They will refine the skills that will help them develop into valuable employees and mentors.
Competitions benefit young people
- Fast-tracking them at the beginning of their careers
- Inspiring them to take up apprenticeships and technical education
- Championing their success
- Accelerating their personal and professional development
Employers can register their apprentices and young employees into competitions.
Working in partnership with SkillBuild not only enables us to showcase the young talent in the UK construction industry, it also enables us to benchmark the employability skills of our apprentices with those from the rest of Europe and across the world. It is this insight which will ensure more young people are being equipped with the right skills to help UK businesses better compete globally.
