With another month behind us, we round up the reasons why we love construction.

1. Thanks so much to our #TakeoverTuesday stars!

Morning everyone! I'm Mimi-Isabella Nwosu (@mimiisabella_), a Materials Engineer from London. I have a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Portsmouth and will be completing my MSc at Imperial College London in Advanced for Sustainable Infrastructure part-time. I am so excited to be doing a #TakeoverTuesday for @goconstructuk to celebrate Black History Month! I'll be showing you materials engineering and my own journey into construction. Black History Month is important to me because people of African and Caribbean descent are currently underrepresented in the construction industry but BHM allows us to be seen and speak about our experiences. I am a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and am so grateful for the opportunity to have Black professionals getting more visibility in construction. I am also a Diversity in Construction Ambassador for the @londonbuildexpo and am proud to be an ambassador for an important cause. I am a member of organisations such as @AFBE_UK and @bpic_network - both of which celebrate BAME individuals in engineering and construction organising a number of events for their members! #MaterialsEngineer #OffToWork! @mimiisabella_ #GoConstruct #WomeninEngineering #Diversityisnotjustabuzzword #CivilEngineering #WomeninEngineering #BlackHistoryMonth #IloveConstruction #careersinconstruction #BAMEinConstruction #construction #womeninconstruction #work #engineering #uni #degree
