SkillBuild, delivered by CITB, is the largest multi-trade competition in the UK for construction trainees and apprentices.
As the biggest and longest running construction skills competition, we’re looking for skill and talent that is built to last.
SkillBuild National Final 2025
The SkillBuild 2025 National Final took place at Arena MK, Milton Keynes, on 19–20 November 2025, bringing together the UK’s top construction trainees and apprentices to compete across ten skilled trades.
80 competitors demonstrated their precision, creativity and dedication in front of hundreds of visitors, employers and industry experts.

Register for SkillBuild 2026!
After an incredible 2025 National Final, the countdown to SkillBuild 2026 has already begun!
Register to compete in your nearest Regional Qualifier, taking place from March to June 2026 at 17 colleges across the UK. With ten different trades to choose from, there’s something for everyone.
Registration is open until 13:00 on Friday 20th February 2026.
How does the competition work?
The Regional Qualifiers run UK-wide, from March to June each year. These one-day events bring together apprentices and trainees who complete a set task relevant to their trade. Once the Qualifiers have finished, the marks are collated and the eight highest-scoring competitors in each specialist skill go through to the next round – the SkillBuild National Final.
