Plant inspectors/controllers are responsible for coordinating plant accounting and financial reporting activities.
Salaries depend on location, employer and level of responsibility, and salaries and career options improve with chartered status.
Generally, a recognised accounting qualification is required: for example, Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
To become a chartered certified accountant you must have studied for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification and become an ACCA member. However, ACCA has introduced foundation-level qualifications for those who have experience but no formal academic qualifications.
Prior experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of plant operations are also desirable.
